US Central Command has requested approval to deploy the “Dark Eagle” long-range hypersonic missile to the Middle East, aiming to target Iranian ballistic missile launchers that are now beyond the reach of current US systems.
The missile has a range of about 1,725 miles and is designed for fast, precise strikes against heavily defended or time-sensitive targets.
If approved, this would mark the first operational deployment of the system, which is not yet fully declared ready. Each missile costs roughly $15 million, and only a limited number are available.

⚡️🇮🇷 i24NEWS: Iran’s storage capacity for its oil is expected to run out within 15 to 60 days.
Once storage is exhausted, Iran will be forced to reduce or even close its oil wells, causing significant damage as restarting production takes a long time.
The 45‑day range depends on whether Iran resorts to using old tankers, which degrade oil quality.

🚨 Strait of Malacca: World’s Next Flashpoint After Hormuz!
The Strait of Hormuz is currently in a “dual blockade”. Iran has largely blocked shipping since February, and the U.S. Navy began blockading Iranian ports on April 13 to retaliate. While oil prices have already peaked at $126 per barrel, China has managed to stay somewhat insulated by negotiating safe passage for its own tankers.
If the U.S. wants to end the Hormuz crisis, it must leverage China’s “Malacca Dilemma”.
The Strategy: Over 80% of China’s oil imports and 60% of its trade flows through the Strait of Malacca. Unlike Hormuz, China cannot easily bypass this route. The U.S. Navy should implement a “far blockade” of the Strait of Malacca. By interdicting Chinese energy imports at this critical chokepoint, the U.S. can force Beijing to choose between its alliance with Tehran and its own economic survival.

🍚 War on Iran & El Niño threaten world rice production
Global rice supply is expected to decline this year as farmers across Asia reduce planting areas due to fertilizer shortages and higher fuel costs linked to the US-Israeli war on Iran, while an emerging El Niño weather pattern is also likely to further limit production of the world’s most widely consumed staple.
The impact of the war in West Asia is being felt by farmers in major exporting countries such as Thailand and Vietnam, as well as in import-dependent nations like the Philippines and Indonesia, according to growers and traders. Disruptions to fuel and fertilizer shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping chokepoint linking the Gulf to international markets, have contributed to the strain.
Smallholder farmers in Southeast Asia are also facing added pressure as El Niño is expected to bring hotter and drier conditions in the second half of the year.

🔽 🇺🇸 🛢 The US is draining its oil reserves at a rapid pace:
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) dropped -7.12 million barrels last week, the largest weekly drawdown since October 2022.
This marks the 5th consecutive weekly decline, the longest streak since 2023.
Over this period, US oil reserves in the SPR have fallen -17 million barrels, to 398 million, the lowest since April 2025.
This comes as total US oil and fuel exports surpassed 14 million barrels per day for the first time in history, as overseas buyers scramble to replace lost Middle Eastern supply.
Furthermore, commercial crude stocks declined -6.23 million barrels last week, the largest weekly decline since early February.
Gasoline and distillate stocks also fell sharply, by -6.08 million barrels and -4.49 million barrels, respectively, pushing total gasoline supplies to their lowest seasonal level since 2014.
Global demand for US oil has never been higher.
