🇺🇸🇮🇱 Buried deep inside a 192-page intelligence authorization bill is Section 622, titled “United States-Israel Intelligence Sharing Enhancement.” It would require the president, acting through the director of national intelligence and as necessary the secretary of defense, to “expand and enhance intelligence sharing with the Government of Israel” on a list of subjects that encompasses almost every topic of intelligence interest in the Middle East.
⭕️ The bill, put forward by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, would prohibit any suspension, reduction, or limitation of such sharing “except on the basis of a specific and identifiable national security concern determined by the President.”

🇷🇺 🇺🇦 🛢 Russia Bans Jet Fuel Exports After Record Refinery Attacks
In addition to refineries, drones are targeting export terminals and oil pipeline infrastructure, such as pumping stations. Ukraine has also been attacking storage facilities, and if Russia hoped to produce and store more fuel to avoid a repeat of fuel crises seen in recent summers, then that might be more difficult with reduced capacity and storage volumes, Vakulenko said.
In total, there were at least 30 strikes on Russian oil assets in May, the most for any month since Russia’s full-scale invasion, the data compiled by Bloomberg show.
Russia has banned jet fuel exports “to ensure a stable situation in the domestic fuel market,” the government said on Monday.
It last year exported an average of 30,000 barrels a day of the fuel, or less than 2% of global supplies, according to data compiled by Bloomberg from analytics firm Vortexa Ltd. Daily average exports slipped to 28,000 barrels in the first four months of 2026, with Turkey the main buyer, the data show.
So far, only Russia-occupied Crimea has rationed road-fuel purchases. Last summer, fuel shortages affected Russia’s Far East as well as Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.
However, there are some signs that supplies are tightening.
As of late May, daily volumes of premium gasoline 95 offered for delivery in the European part of Russia fell to around 5,000 tons per day, a third of what was on offer a year ago, according to the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange. At the same time, prices of this type of fuel on the key commodities bourse jumped more than 20% year-on-year.

Fertilizer prices are normalizing:
New Orleans granular urea prices, the most widely used nitrogen fertilizer, are down to $453.5 per short ton, the lowest since February 6th.
This marks a -36% decline from the mid-April peak, when prices surged to the highest since 2022 as the shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz effectively halted fertilizer shipments from the Middle East.
According to the Fertilizer Institute, countries directly affected by the Iran War account for almost half of all global urea exports.
The current decline has been driven by a sharp drop in seasonal demand, as US farmers have largely completed their spring fertilizer applications, leaving the domestic market oversupplied.
By comparison, Egypt’s benchmark urea price has also plunged to ~$640.0 per short ton, the lowest since late February, though it remains significantly above US prices.
The fertilizer shock is easing.
