🇺🇸🇮🇱📞👑❌🇮🇷 — New York Times reports that United States and Israel planned to install Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the early days of the war
➡️ Days after Israeli strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader and other top officials in the opening salvos of the war, President Trump mused publicly that it would be best if “someone from within” Iran took over the country.
➡️ It turns out that the United States and Israel went into the conflict with a particular and very surprising someone in mind: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former Iranian president known for his hard-line, anti-Israel and anti-American views.
➡️ But the audacious plan, developed by the Israelis and which Mr. Ahmadinejad had been consulted about, quickly went awry, according to the U.S. officials who were briefed on it.
➡️ Mr. Ahmadinejad was injured on the war’s first day by an Israeli strike at his home in Tehran that had been designed to free him from house arrest, the American officials and an associate of Mr. Ahmadinejad said. He survived the strike, they said, but after the near miss he became disillusioned with the regime change plan.
📝 He has not been seen publicly since then and his current whereabouts and condition are unknown.

🚨 EBOLA OUTBREAK SPREADING FASTER AND FARTHER THAN OFFICIALS FEARED – GLOBAL ALARM SOUNDS:
A deadly Ebola strain is surging through the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with health experts warning the true scale is far worse than first reported.
Over 513 suspected cases and 131 deaths have been confirmed, while modeling suggests more than 1,000 infections may already exist undetected.
No approved vaccine or treatment is available for this strain. Cross-border spread has now reached Uganda with at least one fatality, as the virus moves through unsecured areas with high population movement.
Communities live in terror, with residents reporting loved ones dying rapidly and basic measures like handwashing their only defense.
The United States has banned entry for recent travelers from the affected region, with multiple Americans exposed—including one evacuated missionary doctor.

🇮🇷⚔️🇺🇸🇮🇱 Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps issued a new threat to “extend the war beyond the [Middle East] region” if the US and Israel resume their attacks:
“The American-Zionist enemy, who has not learned from the repeated major and strategic defeats by the Islamic Revolution and has once again opened its mouth to threats, should know that although they attacked us with the full capabilities of two of the most expensive armies in the world, we have not yet deployed all the capacities of the Islamic Revolution against them.
But now, if aggression against Iran is repeated, the promised regional war will this time extend beyond the region, and our crushing blows in places you do not expect will bring you to utter ruin.
We are men of war, and you will see our power on the battlefield, not in empty statements and social media pages”

🇮🇱 Netanyahu coalition moves to dissolve Knesset as Haredi draft crisis pushes Israel toward early elections
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition on 20 May passed a preliminary bill to dissolve the Knesset, opening the door to early elections amid a deepening dispute with ultra-Orthodox (haredi) parties over legislation that would determine whether more haredi men can continue to avoid military service, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The bill passed unanimously, 110–0, and must still clear three additional readings before taking effect. If approved, it would move elections forward from the currently scheduled date of 27 October to as early as September or mid-October, since Israeli law requires at least 90 days between the dissolution of parliament and a national vote.
At the center of the crisis is the highly controversial haredi draft bill. Netanyahu has been trying to preserve his coalition by advancing legislation that would largely satisfy ultra-Orthodox parties, whose communities have long received broad exemptions from compulsory military service. The issue has become increasingly explosive as the Israeli army warns of a severe manpower shortage after more than two years of war.
The ultra-Orthodox Degel Hatorah faction says it no longer trusts Netanyahu and continues to support dissolving the Knesset. By introducing the bill itself rather than allowing the opposition to do so, the coalition retains greater control over the timing of elections and over any final legislative push before a possible collapse of the government.

🇺🇸🇨🇺⚡️ — Former Cuban President Raúl Castro and five others have been indicted by a U.S. grand jury in Florida in connection with the 1996 shootdown incident involving U.S. nationals.
Castro faces charges including conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals, four counts of murder, and two counts of destruction of aircraft.
The other defendants include a fighter pilot previously charged in connection with the incident.
It remains unclear whether Castro would ever face trial, as Cuba does not extradite its citizens to the United States.

🇱🇹 Earlier this morning public transport in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, was halted, the airspace over the Vilnius airport was temporarily closed and the Lithuanian government went into lockdown over a drone that breached Lithuania’s airspace.
Residents of Lithuania’s capital have been advised to take shelter in safe locations and follow emergency service instructions.
Lithuanian police told Delfi that a drone entered the country’s airspace in the morning.
The drone allegedly originated from inside Belarus at least according to the Lithuanian government.
Since January 2026, Ukrainian drones have routinely breached the airspace of Baltic countries on their way to attack Russian refineries and oil terminals in the Far North.

🇮🇱☢️🇮🇷 Channel 14 news anchor, Shimon Riklin, was censored live on television after disclosing a potential Israeli plan to seize Iran’s enriched uranium
Riklin says that there could be a ground invasion of Iran [unclear by whom] in multiple areas and in the ensuing chaos, IDF and presumably American SOFs, according to Riklin, would land close to the Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center where the enriched uranium is allegedly stored.
“For example, I don’t really know anything, I’m just saying what I would do, I would land in Isfahan, they’ve already conducted drills for this with the pilots and I would try to extract the enriched material.
Its no secret that Iran would refuse to hand over its enriched uranium”.
One of the guests proceeds to correct Riklin and inform him that digging up the enriched uranium which is buried underground would take weeks or months to which Shimon Riklin says:
“From what I hear, the material isn’t buried, only the entrances are buried [destroyed, and would need to be excavated]. The material once you enter the facility — it doesn’t matter who told me this — you go inside, lift the containers and take it out”
A few seconds later, the live broadcast is cutoff.

🇮🇷🚢🛢 Iran’s new Persian Gulf Strait Authority defined the supervisory boundaries of the Strait of Hormuz management as follows:
“The line connecting Kuh Mobarak in Iran and the south of Fujairah in the UAE at the eastern end of the strait to the line connecting the end of Qeshm Island in Iran and Umm al-Qaiwain in the UAE at the western end of the strait.”
Frequencies in this range for passing through the Strait of Hormuz require coordination with the Persian Gulf Waterway Management and a permit from this authority.

— 🇺🇸/🇮🇱/🇮🇷 NEW: President Trump and Israeli PM Netanyahu discussed a renewed effort to reach a deal with Iran during a lengthy and tense phone call on Tuesday.
Two Israeli sources said the two leaders were in disagreement about the way forward, while the U.S. source briefed on the call said ‘Netanyahu’s hair was on fire after the call’.
Netanyahu is highly skeptical about the negotiations and wants to resume the war to further degrade Iran’s military capabilities and weaken the Iranian government by destroying its critical infrastructure. — Axios
